Giles Deacon for Cadburys Giveaway!!

I am soooo late with this post, I meant to blog about this on Monday, whoopsie!! Anyhu I'm sure that most of you are aware that British designer of the moment Giles Deacon has been commissioned to design a limited edition scarf for the launch of Cadburys Caramel Nibbles! The scarf if being launched on Friday but I have been given one to give away to one of my lovely readers! All you have to do is email me your name and I will randomly select one lucky person's name from my (Philip Treacy!) hat on Saturday so hurry up and start emailing!! :) Giles Deacon explained his inspiration for the scarf: “I was really excited to get a call from the Cadbury Caramel Bunny about her new range. After creating the fabulous Nibbles dress for the launch of her new treats, we chatted about being able to offer her fans a piece of caramel couture. Scarves are a wardrobe must this season and the fact that her new Nibbles Collection replicates polka dots shows how stylish and trendy the Bunny is!”
To get your very own piece of the Caramel Nibbles Collection, you should visit www.nibblesboutique.com where a limited number of scarves will be available for free, from the Cadbury Caramel Nibbles Boutique digital pop up shop. I have to say I love this idea, when I was younger my favourite chocolate bar was (it still is if I'm buying a chocolate bar!) Cadburys Caramel! At Easter my house would be a shrine to caramel bars and eggs, and I loved the Caramel bunny! So I'm really excited to see this fun relaunch they have come up with! And I love scarves so they have combined a few of my favourite things! I personally am DYING to get my paws on one of these little gems, so make sure you email and enter you lucky things! Now excuse me while I go out and buy a bar of Cadburys Caramel.....(",)

My Autumn/Winter Inspiration...

This season I am really finding myself looking to 60's/70's style icon's for outfit inspiration. I've always loved the style of Marianne Faithfull, Jane Birkin and Brigitte Bardot. I love that whole glamorous style worked with a real nonchalance about dressing. I love their carefree attitude to their outfits, looking amazing but not looking like they spent a minute thinking about their outfit. Ankle boots ( I got my laced up ankle boots last night from Topshop, I'll post a picture another day!) and a leopard print coat (which I am hunting high and low for) are for me two key pieces for this season. I am really excited to see fur (fake ,of course, I do not condone the unethical treatment of animals) back in so many shops, and cannot wait to start wearing mine at nighttime now the weather is getting so cold! P.S. I would kill for Bardot's hair in the first picture! (",)

My Muse, Olivia Palermo...

Here are some more pictures of my muse, Olivia Palermo's style. I just love this girl's style. She always looks so impeccable and put together, yet at the same time so effortless! Such a rare combination! She is definitely someone I would try to emulate in my daily style and I would take a lot of inspiration from her outfits, and certain aspects from them. Her style and her eye are definitely something you are born with. Here are some pictures of her from London Fashion Week.

Mary Katrantzou

Going through my folder of magazine tears for college I came across a little piece I had pulled out about new designers at London Fashion Week A/W09. I remember one designers working really jumping out at me, and that was the photo of one of Mary Katrantzou's dresses. Her prints are just amazing, they really are an optical illusion. This was Katrantzou's first showing at London after her graduate show from Central St Martin's. She uses a computer to create her prints, which are just so fluid and 3D looking. I really think they are amazing, and I could look at them for hours!

She showed again at last month's London Fashion Week with a much bigger crowd, and here below are just some images I pulled from her catwalk show! This is definitely a designer to watch out for in the near future! I think if I owned one of her gorgeous dresses I would hang it on the wall like art and stare at it all day!

Aren't they fabulous?? I would love to hear everyone's opinion on these looks! :)

One of my fave A/W microtrends...Lace-Up Boots

I having been watching lace-up boots creep more and more into the picture for A/W recently and I love them!! I am on the hunt for the perfect pair which as you know I think is the Givenchy lace-up boots, but they are like crazy ass expensive! So I am on the hunt for a pair of looky-likey's from the high street! I think I have found th perfect pair from Topshop (bottom left) but now it's getting colder I want a pair of not-so-high closed toe lace up boots too! Can't wait to copy some of these looks!

Tomorrow is Sartorialist Day...

It is nearly Sartorialist Day as I have named it. Scott Schuman is having a book signing here in Dublin to promote his latest book and hopefully will be giving us a few words of advice! I never thought I would get the opportunity to sit in the same room as this man, especially in our lovely capital city! I am starting to get a bit nervous about tomorrow as I am going on my own and apparently it is going to be standing room only now, I was hoping it would be lovely and civilised and we would all be sitting down listening to some fantastic tales. Now I fear it is going to be full of posers and people who just want to be seen and have no interest at all! I am trying to come up with an outfit to wear tomorrow morning. Like seriously what do you wear to meet the Sartorialist??! I have already come up with some lovely outfits in my head, none of which I actually own, which of course is always the way! At this stage I think I know what I will probably be wearing but I just feel it is not amazing or glamorous enough for what I fear tomorrow is going to be, and I know I can do so much better with dressing :( Especially when it is probably my only chance ever to be photographed by him. I wonder will he find many subjects tomorrow that will appear on his blog, I know I am really excited to see that. And more importantly, will I be able to capture a few pictures of him :)

Poppy Love

Whilst trolling through the Sartorialist's pictures as I do daily, I was delighted to actually recognise someone in the photo's, enter Miss Poppy Delevigne. I personally love Poppy's look, and as many know she is a model. So I was pretty horrified by some of the comments that appeared regarding her thighs and hips as being of normal size! This girl is tiny, no wonder so many young women feel under pressure to be thin. "Normal size" is a UK 12 or 14, I am a healthy 8- 10 which is small for my height (5'9) and even I feel a bit uncomfrotable reading these comments cos I know there is no comparison between her hips and thighs and mine! :) She is absolutely beautiful and is perfect but I am so fed up of hearing what is "normal", especially when it comes to women's shapes and sizes. The Sartorialist shoots outfits and style, I don't think he ever expects his 'models' to be criticised! I wonder how Poppy must feel reading those comments, I know how I would! I know when I look at his shots, I never judge the person, or even think about them, I just appreciate their outfit or style. I wonder if this is the norm, or am I less critical and judgemental than most?? I know I am glad I am though, that bitterness would eat you up! I would love to hear opinions on this age old debate.

If you want to see more of Poppy's fabulous style and lifestyle, she is currently featured on Fashionair.com ( which I am becoming addicted too, I love love love it...). I know I will be taking inspiration from this outfit, she has great London style!
