Who's That Girl.....

Kim Sears

Like most people I am totally enthralled in Wimbledon and was so disappointed to see Andy Murray lose on Friday. Maybe for different reasons to most, I have a total girl crush on his girlfriend Kim Sears. She has that totally natural but polished look down to a tee. Her glossy hair is perfectly blowdryed for every game, her make up is light and she has that gorgeous honey hued tan that gives her that lovely outdoorsy glow. She is perfectly polished, even her outfits look carefree. I love her use of casual basics, blazers, shirts, straight jeans and ballet pumps to build her stylish Wimbledon outfits. And she can rock a pair of aviators! I love her Sloaney look. I think this is the year of the Sloaney, with the Middleton sisters rocking the look too. It might finally be the end of the Kate Moss, just rolled out of bed and haven't brushed my hair in a week look. Thank God!

Spring Styling...Jumpsuits

The Jump Off

Jumpsuits or play suits have fast become a Spring/Summer staple. They first reappeared a few years back now and have been wholly embraced by us ever since. During summer I love to wear pretty dresses but the fear of a breeze blowing my lightweight dress up around my ears terrify's me. Thats why I love play suits, they often look like a dress but they are shorts and you have the comfort of knowing that you are not going to end up flashing your knickers or worse your lady-bits(unless you want them to of course!). Here are some of my faves. This hot pink one (above) is by Halston Heritage and I am absolutely mad about it! I can't stop thinking about it!

Dear Frankie....

Someone whose style I've admired now for a while is Frankie Sandford of The Saturdays. Personally I think this girl can do no wrong. She rocks every outfit she wears and I don't think I've ever not liked an outfit shes worn. I'm not normally a fan of pop singers and how they dress but this girl rocks such a cool, edgy All Saints look. I love this style and its so refreshing to see girls my age not rocking the overdone Wag look of fake tan and those damn hair extensions on nights out. She looks so comfortable and like she would be so much fun to go on a night out with. I also love how most of the shoes she wears are from Office or Topshop and how she is a huge fan of the high street! Finally someone who really does shop where we shop! (",)

My Hareem...

Hey guys, sorry I totally disappeared off the blogosphere over the past few weeks. My regular readers will know why! Anyhu I will fingers crossed officially be healed next week and will be out of this horrible contraption that I am currently in! My thoughts have turned to outfits I will be able to wear again! I have been really feeling hareem pants and I nearly passed out when I saw this picture of Gwen Stefani (the middle pic!) in this months Glamour. How cool does she look? I will definitely be taking hareem inspiration from her this summer. I couldn't find the picture on its own but when I was googling away this image from lala for fashion came up. Gwen totally rocks the hareem look and this is definitely the way to do it, always with heels! Unless you are a super-tall super-thin supermodel! Definitely go for hareem pants with a bit more structure, Topshop have some great styles. Or if you want to do a more sporty look, go with jersey. (",)_SequinsandBangles_xx

Rachel Zoe at Milan Fashion Week...

I always love to see what this fashionista is wearing. Generally in her words "I die" when it comes to her outfits. I love her retro 70's style and how she always looks so damn cool. So when I saw this outfit on Elle.com, I have to say I was a bit confused! I love the black dress, the grey cardi, her tights and shoes, and of course the Birken, but the hat?? I'm not really feeling it! A bit Renaissance for Miss Zoe. What do you guys think?

Most Stylish of the Noughties....

I decided to do a little post on who I think have been the most stylish people of the last decade and who have really inspired me and my looks, as well as directed the general movement of fashion.

All of these have had such an impact on fashion over the past ten years. The internet has played such a huge role in how fashion has changed over the past ten years and all access television shows have given us insider knowledge and behind-the-scenes access. If you think I've left anyone out, I'd be really interested to hear!
And personally, my most stylish of 2009 award goes to, Miss Olivia Palermo! You have got to love her sheer elegance. This girl knows how to dress and it's so nice to see timeless elegance in such a young girl again as opposed to the horrible 'Wag' way of dressing that plagued the past decade! Yuck! (",)

My Autumn/Winter Inspiration...

This season I am really finding myself looking to 60's/70's style icon's for outfit inspiration. I've always loved the style of Marianne Faithfull, Jane Birkin and Brigitte Bardot. I love that whole glamorous style worked with a real nonchalance about dressing. I love their carefree attitude to their outfits, looking amazing but not looking like they spent a minute thinking about their outfit. Ankle boots ( I got my laced up ankle boots last night from Topshop, I'll post a picture another day!) and a leopard print coat (which I am hunting high and low for) are for me two key pieces for this season. I am really excited to see fur (fake ,of course, I do not condone the unethical treatment of animals) back in so many shops, and cannot wait to start wearing mine at nighttime now the weather is getting so cold! P.S. I would kill for Bardot's hair in the first picture! (",)

My Muse, Olivia Palermo...

Here are some more pictures of my muse, Olivia Palermo's style. I just love this girl's style. She always looks so impeccable and put together, yet at the same time so effortless! Such a rare combination! She is definitely someone I would try to emulate in my daily style and I would take a lot of inspiration from her outfits, and certain aspects from them. Her style and her eye are definitely something you are born with. Here are some pictures of her from London Fashion Week.

Poppy Love

Whilst trolling through the Sartorialist's pictures as I do daily, I was delighted to actually recognise someone in the photo's, enter Miss Poppy Delevigne. I personally love Poppy's look, and as many know she is a model. So I was pretty horrified by some of the comments that appeared regarding her thighs and hips as being of normal size! This girl is tiny, no wonder so many young women feel under pressure to be thin. "Normal size" is a UK 12 or 14, I am a healthy 8- 10 which is small for my height (5'9) and even I feel a bit uncomfrotable reading these comments cos I know there is no comparison between her hips and thighs and mine! :) She is absolutely beautiful and is perfect but I am so fed up of hearing what is "normal", especially when it comes to women's shapes and sizes. The Sartorialist shoots outfits and style, I don't think he ever expects his 'models' to be criticised! I wonder how Poppy must feel reading those comments, I know how I would! I know when I look at his shots, I never judge the person, or even think about them, I just appreciate their outfit or style. I wonder if this is the norm, or am I less critical and judgemental than most?? I know I am glad I am though, that bitterness would eat you up! I would love to hear opinions on this age old debate.

If you want to see more of Poppy's fabulous style and lifestyle, she is currently featured on Fashionair.com ( which I am becoming addicted too, I love love love it...). I know I will be taking inspiration from this outfit, she has great London style!
